Careers in Medicine (CiM) for Advisors
To keep up with the complex and ever-changing landscape of the transition to residency, the AAMC Careers in Medicine® program provides a comprehensive collection of information, tools, training/professional development, and support to all those whose work intersects with specialty choice and residency application.
CiM supports a range of advising needs including developing and enhancing advisor skills, identifying effective advising practices, gaining buy-in across stakeholders, and establishing consistent messaging by providing advisors with expert-developed guidance and tools, networking and crowdsourcing opportunities, and training/professional development in various lengths and formats.
Advisor resources available to support these needs include advising checklists, guidance for utilizing self-assessment with students, toolkits, an advisor bibliography, and more.
